About Leafy

Fine Artist and Illustrator Leafy Dumas is best known for her joyful paintings of maps, boats and the English seaside.

Cut off by high tides and surrounded by the saltmarsh and mudflats of north Essex, Leafy lives and works on Mersea Island. As well as painting and drawing she spends a lot of time dreaming of adventures and drinking cups of tea. Leafy is a seasoned sailor and a member of West Mersea's lifeboat crew.

Christened Alethea, known as Leafy, she had a nomadic childhood living in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Caribbean. After attending nine different schools Leafy graduated from Exeter College of Art with a First Class Honours Degree.

From a portfolio built on fresh air and dreams, Leafy creates paintings, fine art prints and cards available for sale via her Etsy shop, "In and Out of the Sea".
